We at MOSH will be hosting a Mini Maker Faire of our own, right up the road in Jacksonville. Check us out for yourself to see what we have planned in April. If you're interested in our museum, we can get you the latest on that too.
The main attraction at our booth is the competition though. Individuals and small teams will take a crack at designing a pegboard maze/obstacle coarse, using pegs, rubber bands, and some other small materials. We call it "How Slow Can You Go?". Up to five teams will work at once and have an allotted amount of time to complete their design (around 10 min). Once the design phase is complete, all teams will set up their boards to see once and for all, who's goes the slowest. MOSH's educator will time it. The slowest times captured will be documented and added to a growing set of data that can be analyzed at our booth as the day wears on. Will your best last the test of time? Throughout the day, our educator will have chances to run through simple questioning and data analysis techniques. Not in a boring way, but in a relevant and funny way given the activity everyone just participated in. Come by and see how slow YOU can go!
