Cosplay is an exciting way to put your maker skills to the test! Video games, movies, TV shows and more! Making fun and elaborate costumes is a great way to express your creativity and embody your favorite characters. I want to show you how casting molds using advanced materials can bring your costume game to the next level. This includes the use of CNC machined molds, 3D printed positives, and so much more. We will be exploring the different techniques and tools used for creating costumes using casting! This includes resins, silicone, and expanding foam! I will be demonstrating casting of materials for making costumes all weekend long. Examples of the different processes will be displayed as well as finished products and works in progress. I am bringing an arsenal of tools to show off and teach guests about the casting processes.
Hey there! Name is Mike, but you can call me Circuit! I make elaborate mascot costumes using the latest technology and materials for my company FeraProp. I am a member of the Familab Hackerspace in Longwood Florida. If you live in the Orlando area, you should go check it out!
On a typical day you can find me waist deep in 3D modeling/sculpting, sewing, casting, printing, painting… just so many different practices of making. I love collaborating with other makers to develop new methods for costume building that utilize emerging technologies. Be sure to find me at the Faire and chat about some of the awesome stuff I will be showing off!
