I fell in love with the artistic look and appeal of Steampunk about 7 years ago. After meeting with a few friends at Megacon, I became affiliated with the Central Florida Steampunk Association (CFSA) where I found my creative bug when I decided to make a leather top hat. This small yet powerful symbol was my start in a long process of not just steampunk but also cosplay.
After a few months I learned that Steampunk was also about characters, personas, role playing, and also sharing and learning new ways to view modern things with an old-fashioned taste. It was then that I found that using my career in Drafting helped make patterns for anything that I wanted to create after. Leather was second nature, and my shop began to move on its own when others asked for commissions.
I then began to create customized, steampunk inspired leather products and cosplay items for clients. So far I have made four full costumes for myself, two for my wife, one for my son, and four for other clients. In this process, I have had to learn how to sew by hand and with a leather sewing machine, basic and more advanced techniques of leather crafts. I continue to learn everyday, and also teach anyone that wants to learn about steampunk and how to create things like it.
A home hobby shop that has taken adopted Steampunk inspired leather crafting. We strive to make things new, fresh and unique. Our items vary in size and can be big or small, all with the customer’s design in mind. We make personal items that take hours of pre-planning, designing and learning of new crafts in order to complete, many are more than just leather. Using drafting knowledge, we review all parts of the design prior to construction, details, and even measurements to assure that everything fits exactly to how we need it. We are ever growing in our makings, items, ideas, and costume builds. Please check out our links to see all we have accomplished.
